Logging and Working at RCF
Logging
Once you have your RCF account, you can log with ssh on the following machines :
- > ssh rssh.rhic.bnl.gov (as a gateway to machines devoted to real work). From there :
- > ssh phnxmui or > ssh phnxmut will log you to working machines devoted to muon software works. These belong to the pool of RCAS machines from where you can see all the software environment of PHENIX.
- > ssh rcf2.rhic.bnl.gov (only for web or editing purposes).
Comments :
- If your username is not the same at RCF than on your starting machine use
> ssh username@rcf2.rhic.bnl.gov
- From France, use ssf instead of ssh.
Disk Spaces
You have various disk spaces at RCF :
- Your basic RCF2 account /phenix/u/username
- A working area /phenix/workarea/username where it is recommended to work.
- An afs space /afs/rhic/phenix/users/username very useful if you want to see some of your files from a remote place. AFS Tutorial.
- Big disks /phenix/dataNN where NN goes from 01 to 25. You can create a username directory to store big files.
Web Spaces
You have three places to build web spaces at RCF :
